Location and Geography
WEB Afghanistan is a landlocked country situated at the crossroads of Central and South Asia. It shares borders with Pakistan to the south and east, Iran to the west, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan to the north, and China to the northeast. Afghanistan covers an area of approximately 652,230 square kilometers (251,827 square miles), making it the 41st-largest country in the world by land area.
Political and Administrative Divisions
Afghanistan is divided into 34 provinces, each of which is further divided into districts. The capital and largest city is Kabul, located in the eastern part of the country. Other major cities include Kandahar, Herat, Mazar-i-Sharif, and Jalalabad.
