Ajaxs Next Champions League Game Against Legia Warsaw At The Polish Army Stadium Is Now In Doubt After The Clubs Latest Crowd Trouble Incident

Polish club involved in previous violent game with Ajax again embroiled in crowd trouble

Ajax's next Champions League game against Legia Warsaw at the Polish Army Stadium is now in doubt after the club's latest crowd trouble incident

The Polish champions were deducted a point by UEFA and ordered to play their next two European games behind closed doors, including their upcoming clash with Ajax, after crowd trouble marred their Europa League game against Leicester City

Legia, who drew 1-1 with Leicester, had already been placed on probation following crowd trouble when they played Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League qualifiers in July.

The Polish Football Association (PZPN) has since said it will not appeal against the UEFA sanctions but will instead "draw the conclusions" from the latest incident.

Legia have a history of crowd trouble, and their fans have been involved in several violent incidents in recent years.

In 2015, they were banned from playing in Europe for one season after their fans attacked the team bus of Serbian club Crvena Zvezda.

Ajax is due to play Legia in Warsaw on September 28, but the game could now be moved to a neutral venue or even canceled altogether.

UEFA will make a decision on the matter in due course.
